Remarks:
With the debut of the Macintosh SE, full backwards compatibility was maintained with the addition of new features that allowed expandability. The SE uses a MC68000 CPU running at 7.8336 MHz. It uses 32bit interal registers and a 24bit address bus. No coprocessor is built in, although it can accept an optional coprocessor card installed in the SE bus expansion connector. The computer has 256k of ROM and supports memory sizes of 1,2,2.5 and 4 meg. No hardware memory management is used and the computer has a SE bus expansion connector. Sound is provided via RAM based mono sound buffer. 1 or 2 800k floppy drives can be used as well as an internal SCSI hard drive if only one floppy drive is installed. Like the Mac Plus, SCSI is standard as well as 2 mini-DIN serial ports. The 9inch CRT shows a black and white image at 512x342 pixels. An external monitor can be used if a video card is connected to the SE bus expansion connector. The SE was the first model to come with the ADB port in which the mouse and keyboard connect to. Two ADB connectors are provided so either the mouse and keyboard can be connected to those ports, or the mouse can be daisy chained off the keyboard. This model also has 1 meg of memory running system 6.0.7 and has the correct mouse and keyboard. Also pictured on top is a global village 2400 modem which gets its power from the ADB keyboard cable. Future plans include a 4meg upgrade.
