Remarks:
The model 90 XP 486 was one of the first 486 class PS/2s introduced. It was announced on 30oct90 and discontinued on 28jul92. It is a desktop form factor and uses a removable processor complex similar to the 9595 machine that also resides in the collection. The model 90 featured a 20, 25, 33 or 50mhz CPU of which the model featured also has. 8 meg of parity interleaved memory was standard upgradeable to 64. Unfortunately, only the first 16m on the system is DMA controlled. XGA graphics is built in as well as 4 device bays and 4 slots. This machine is in good shape and includes the PS/2 internal tape backup and one 400 meg SCSI drive. However, the standard SCSI adaptor with cache is missing as well as the memory riser cards so it is not functioning at the moment. Also installed is an XGA-2 video adaptor and a 16/4 Token Ring card. Approxmiate price for the model 90 when new (depending on configuration) ranged from $7000 to over $11000
