Remarks:
The PS/2 model 50 which uses the MCA architecture announced on 02apr87 and was discontinued on 23jul91. The model 50 features an 80286 CPU running at 10mhz and 1 wait state. 1 meg of memory is standard on the system board and can be upgraded to the max of 16 meg with the use of memory expansion cards. On 02jun88, the Model 50Z was announced. It contained faster memory and 2 meg on the system board as well as higher hard drive capacities. The unit featured above is the original Model 50, with 1 meg of memory and a 20 meg hard drive. Also installed is a dual async card which provides two more serial ports. At the time of the machine's debut, the original Model 50's price was $3,595.
