Manufacturer: IBM
Machine Type: PS/2 Model 30
Model Number: 8530-021
Serial Number: 72-1018993
Current Status: Working, see remarks
Acquired: Fall 1996
Remarks:
This is another PS/2 Model 30, but has an 8086 CPU and 720k floppy drive rather than the 1.44 drive that the 286 Model 30 uses. This machine was also rescued by my brother before it was thrown out. The hard drive was working previously, provided the machine was booted to a floppy first, but the drive started getting noisier until finally the machine posted a 17xx error code (hard drive). Failure analysis of the drive itself showed internal mechanical failure. MCGA graphics are standard on the system board.
